OUR STORY

Why we started. What we saw.

AAC Steel was founded by engineers and builders who spent years on Northeast jobsites witnessing the same problems repeat. We watched an industry stuck in the past while the future demanded something better.

Wood-framed projects above 5 stories consistently missed deadlines and budgets. Concrete added layers of cost and complexity. There was a gap in the market, and no one was brave enough to fill it.

So we founded AAC Steel to engineer and manufacture precision cold-formed steel components that solve the problems we saw for two decades. Not just to fix what’s broken, but to reimagine how construction gets done.

OUR JOURNEY

From two houses to a flagship factory.

2018

AAC Steel starts

The company is founded, laying the groundwork for what would become a steel framing partner for developers.

2019

Self developments begin

Dedham: two single-family houses mark the first projects built and managed in-house.

2020

Dedham completion

Both Dedham homes are completed, proving out the process from the ground up.

2021

Partnership with Alpine

AAC starts working with Alpine, exclusively managing their developments going forward.

2022

Alpine developments

Continued delivery across Alpine's portfolio, strengthening the partnership.

2023

Alpine developments

2024

First steel project

230 & 240 East Central and 476 Warren mark the shift into cold-formed steel framing.

2025

Scaling steel projects

230, 240, Randolph, and 8 Winter in Cambridge expand the steel project pipeline.
